What is water baptism?

Water baptism is an act of faith in which the believer is immersed or submerged into water as an outward sign of the inward work of Jesus Christ’s saving grace.

He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:16

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38

Water baptism is an ordinance instituted by Jesus Christ, which identifies us with Him in His death(repentance) burial (water baptism) and resurrection (Holy Spirit baptism). It represents the death and burial of our “old man” (our own old nature), and that we are resurrected into a new life.

Do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
Rom 6:3-6

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal 3:27

When can I be baptized?

During our weekend services, at the end of the sermon, there is an opportunity to respond to an invitation to be baptized, as we have changing clothes for baptism. Or a person can schedule their weekend time of baptism by contacting the office.
